In 2009 the Restoring Biodiversity Industry Association Inc was established with the objective “To promote and develop professional standards and information sharing in the industry of natural area management”.
The natural area management “industry” includes the various organisations and individuals working for government and private organisations: contractors, bush regenerators, company directors, supervisors, ecological consultants, local councils, state agencies, non government organisations, TAFE, universities and community volunteers.

The main activity of the Restoring Biodiversity Industry Association Inc is to convene these industry forums and bring together people working across the various sectors and organisations.

The inaugural Annual General Meeting of the Restoring Biodiversity Industry Association Inc was held on Thursday 10th December 2009 at the Coal Loader Sustainability Centre in Waverton (North Sydney council area).
